Naughty Nautilus

One of my favourite terrors of the deep is the nautilus. I just love these little fellas. Obviously I've sexed up this picture a bit because that's how I roll, but I believe they're very similar to this in real life anyway.

Lamb chop

Lamb eats chop. What a scything comment on the British meat industry and how we treat animals and food as consumers. Not really, I just thought it would be funny and a little creepy. However if any journos want to use this hard hitting image to accompany their investigative article on the state of farming or butchery just give me a shout. My morals can always be compromised for sweet cash you know.

Here are some animal based celebrity pun characters I did for a pitch for Heat Magazine. They were never used which is surprising as the comic strip I put forward was a work of pure genius. Can you guess who they are? Remember they're all animal celebrity hybrids who were really big a couple of years back....

The mayor of London: SLOW LORIS JOHNSON

Beardy Bristolian and (possibly) honey lover: JUSTIN BEE COLLINS

Lovable grinny chatty man: ALIGATOR CARR

Scary Mary's Hairy Beary Fairy Tales - screen print set

The opening of Scary Mary's Hairy Beary Fairy Tales was ace, if I say so myself. Thanks everyone for all your support and remember the show is on for four glorious weeks.

This is the complete set of the new screen prints I did for the Scary Mary show in all the colourways. I need to find some way to sell them online, so any tips or advice will be gratefully received. Look how nice they look framed up too - how can you live without one? I will sort some way of selling them online but until then just get in touch through my site if you want one - or eight as it's a shame to split them up.

The fate of the Gingerbread Man

I think this'll be my last post before the show, so I'm afraid I won't be able to whip you up into an attendance frenzy any more. I'll just rely on your impeccable taste and thirst for high culture that will get you to the Odder Bar on Thursday.
This is one of my new prints. I posted an image of it being printed a few days back. Here's a better view. If you want to see it in real life come to Manchester.

Scary Mary poster back from the printers

In only four days time, the glory that is the Scary Mary's Hairy Beary Fairy Tale Show will shine on the people of Manchester. Well for those chosen few in the Odder Bar on Thursday evening it will. I got my print back for the wall poster and price list and here it is. Hopefully I won't make a mess of it when I cut it up into four pieces.

Chihuahua & Pug

I really am obsessed with chihuahuas & pugs at the moment. Well small, ugly dogs in general. These tiny breeds fascinate me. I really want to get one. I'd just be worried about it getting eaten by a bigger dog. Does this kind of thing happen when dogs get together or are they more amicable get togethers?

Frogs Porn

I can only apologise for this but it makes me chuckle. What could be more erotic than a sexy frog wearing nipple tassels? Nothing - that's what. Happy Friday 13th everybody. It's only a matter of time until Hallmark declares this day an official holiday so enjoy it while it's free.

Scary Mary's Hairy Beary Fairy Tales

This time next week I'll be hanging the pictures for the Scary Mary show. Exciting times indeed. I was just talking about it on the morning show on Gaydio so hopefully the people of Manchester's interest will be piqued and they'll wander over to check it out.
Come along on Thursday evening, that's the 19th for the first night because that's the night I'll be there. Here's all the details and remember, the more popular you make me look, the more your Phil Corbett prints will be worth. That's how the economy works as I understand it.

Zen Elephant

It's all going a bit Zen this week. This time an elephant has reached the state of Nirvana. I think I have too. I'm definitely in some altered state of consciousness... Maybe the opposite state to Nirvana. What would that be? This week has been hectic to say the least. And it's only Wednesday...

Hoxton Mystery Solved

Yesterday's mystery has been solved. It was all above board as you can see in the comments for the previous post. It wasn't a horrid corporation, it was the rather lovely James from Big Antidote. So all is well. Here is the hoarding in all its glory. But it's gone now... well I couldn't see it.
I wonder what my next case will be...

Hoxton Mystery

This is a bit of a mystery. A friend of mine sent me this from his phone which he saw on a hoarding in trendy Hoxton Square. He couldn't find any other facts so why was it there and who put it up? I'm not even sure how big it is.
The original art work used here I did for the Big Antidote show. Have a look at their website as the comic strip is progressing nicely (as I type I realise this concept is identical to my last post) but I don't know how that ended up here. Nice as it is to see my work up it would have been nice to have been asked or told or even, dare I say it, paid. I know there is a lot of money in the building trade and this is my job not just a hobby. I want a slice of that sweet cash!
If anyone can shed light on this mystery, please let me know. The game is afoot!

Find Chaffy

Get yourself down to your local book shop, or online equivalent and get your hand's on Jamie Smart's new book Find Chaffy which is out today. From what I've seen of it, it looks ace and Jamie's work is always fantastic and from all my dealings with him I can tell you that he's a lovely chap too.
Jamie's organising a massive web comic to celebrate which launches on the site next week and I'm proud to be involved. So have a look there soon, but while you're waiting go and buy the book.

Nua Brighton

If you're in Brighton town centre, pop into the Nua store where you can see (and buy) some of my more erotic (I use the word in its broadest sense) pieces of art. It's an ace shop with lovely staff so go in and see them and they may let you try on their hand cuffs and hot pants and loads of exciting things like that.

Robot Lube

Robots need plenty of lubricant to keep all their parts in fine working order and they love the taste of raspberries. That's why raspberry flavoured Engine Lube is their lube of choice. If Andy Warhol was alive today and was also a robot I know he would have approved.

The Scooter & Jinx Window Display

It was a lovely sunny day in Hastings last Wednesday when me and my old pal Matthew Jones went to jazz up the window of the nation's favourite designer toy shop: Scooter & Jinx.
In the Old Town every year they have a shop window competition and with our eyes on the prize we converted a load of old bike boxes into this fantastic display.

Hats off to the Jones. He has all the technical skill where as I just drew the odd fish and offered helpful advice. I like to think that I was the brains and he was the brawn (and some more brains) but we did have a fun day there. So let's see if we nail that prize.
