AussieBum Football Animals Underwear

Remember a while back I was asking for foreign swearwords? Well here is for why. I have a new design out for AussieBum. The theme this time is footballing animals a bit like in that scene from Bed Knobs & Broomsticks. If you look closely you'll notice that the creatures playing and swearing are the national animals of each country. There's a slight World Cup theme going on here. Clever eh? I don't just throw these designs together you know.
You can buy a pair and see the rest of the styles here at the AussieBum site.

Beaver & Steve

James Turner has an ace series of web comics. One of them being Beaver & Steve. You can follow their adventures and see the rest of his brilliant wares here. I met him at a small press show in Bristol a while back and he gave me a copy of his Beaver & Steve book in return for my Kitten Parasite book. We were both winners, especially me.

Nottingham City Council

This is the second in my occasional series 'Work Done For Local Councils in the Midlands That was Never Used'. Nottingham, joins Warwickshire as part of this prestigious collection of local councils. I seem to get approached with this kind of work when departments realise that they have some money left in their budget and if they don't spend it before the financial year is up they won't get as much the next year. Such is life.

Qee stickers

This post is mainly for my benefit as a bit of an archive. This is a project I was involved in with 65 other artists. I think it happened a year ago, or even longer. I'm just posting it up now as, to be honest I forgot about it at the time and it's handy to store it here for posterity.

Ridiculous Dogs

A few more canines to round up my short tribute to man's best friend. Adorable.

Terrier

Let's keep the dog theme going a little longer. I used to see a lot of these kinds of fellows wandering about Finsbury Park when that was my Hood. There's not so many here in Hove. Most of the dogs round here wear clothes too, which is greatly to their credit, especially in this cold, wet weather.

Dog DNA

There are loads of different kinds of dogs about these days and that's all thanks to science and something I like to call DNA. I was trying to explain that to the readers of some scientific journal with this illustration. I think they all understand it now and are working on new and exciting dog breeds to take us into this modern age of wonders.

Terries, The Dead Pet Adventures part 8

And there you have it. That is the complete story. If you haven't been reading these on the day I posted them up it's going to be a bit of a pain to read in order, but you're clever, you'll be able to work it out. Hope you liked the adventures of Terries.

Terries, The Dead Pet Adventures part 7

This is the penultimate part in the Terries story. I'm not sure it'll make sense to anyone who isn't me. Tomorrow we climax!

Terries, The Dead Pet Adventures part 2

Here's part two. I'm going to post up a couple of pages at a time... just to keep things moving.

Terries, The Dead Pet Adventures

I think I'll spend the next fortnight showing you this little comic strip I did. It was for a competition I entered run by Tokyo Pop, the manga people a few years back. Its funny as I didn't think that my work was 'manga' enough for them, but they convinced me that it didn't have to be and to enter after seeing my work, so I spent ages on it. Like my previous comic competition posting, I didn't win, but this time I was a runner up at least. When I contacted them to ask why I didn't win (ha ha get me) and I was told that it wasn't 'manga' enough. Wah wah wah wah!
Anyway, enjoy the strip and here's two to get you going.

More cat ghosts

Why do I bare cats such ill will? I don't really but I am fascinated by their nine lives and it's a theme I often (subconsciously) return too. But this one I notice is losing just eight, unless the final phantom is on the other side.

Raspberry Flavoured Engine Lubricant

This would be the ideal products for robots, providing that science can eventually give them the ability to taste raspberries. Imagine how smoothly they'd run and how happy they'd be.

Mythical Petting Zoo

For those of you that know me, you'll know that I've been chipping away at a massive project for the last year or so in my spare time. Although nothing to do with illustration I do find that I like to doodle away while I think about it. Here is one of those doodles, worked up a bit for your viewing pleasure. It's a subspecies of the griffin family. It makes me laugh, when I was doing my art GCSE I was told never to draw monsters or cartoons as it wasn't real art and I'd never get anywhere doing that kind of nonsense, yet here I am now drawing them all the time for a living. So thinking back on it, Miss Powell was right. Curses!

Escape from the Planet of the Apes - Full Comic Strip

Here's the full comic strip telling the story of the film Escape from the Planet of the Apes that I mentioned in a previous post. I entered it into a competition run by Little White Lies (which I always read on their website URL as 'lilies' for some reason). The brief was to tell the story of a film in six panels. I didn't win or even place, but it was fun to do and I have to thank Jonathan Edwards for supplying me with the musical inspiration for this strip.
